On Staying the Course
Notes from a month of travel, talk, and textile
January arrived the way we seem to like most months to arrive- busy, slightly breathless, and full. We’re beginning to realise that we thrive in this rhythm: days packed, minds occupied not only by the work at hand but by all the things quietly unfolding in the background. Somewhere between the rush and the reflection, we’ve found ourselves brimming with ideas for 2026- excited, energised, and deeply curious about what lies ahead.
The year began exactly where we left 2025: preparing for a showcase in Copenhagen during Copenhagen Fashion Week. As part of Female Fashion Voices, a curated showroom by @White Label Project, we presented our work alongside a thoughtful selection of international brands aligned by shared values. From Copenhagen, the collection travelled to Berlin, where it was showcased at the White Label Project Store during Berlin Fashion Week.

Across both cities, we shared a careful edit from Index | Seasonless ’25 and Unquiet | Seasonless ’26, including pieces crafted in indigenous sheep wool sourced from the Bhotia tribe of Uttarakhand. Hand-spun in the upper Himalayan regions of Kumaon and Garhwal, this wool moves with the seasonal migrations of the Bhotia people, from high pastures to the foothills near the Ganges. Using naturally coloured fibres, women traditionally weave it into Pankhi shawls within a transhumant Himalayan way of life. In Unquiet | Seasonless ’26, this textile continues as a material practice, one that holds the integrity of fibre, process, and provenance at its core.

Our search for indigenous wool has been long and patient, and finding partners who are equally invested in sustained relationships and co-creation feels deeply meaningful. This year, we are also planning to document the journey of the wool- from fibre to garment, and look forward to spending time with the community, learning and listening closely.
January also opened up spaces for conversation beyond the garment. I was invited by Pearl Academy, South Campus to speak as part of Harit Prem Bharat Mahotsav ’26, an initiative by the Prem Jain Memorial Trust. What stood out most was the exchange itself, students and faculty alike were engaged, curious, and generous in their questions, making it less of a talk and more of a shared reflection.

Later in the month, I found myself at the British Council, New Delhi, for Creative Convergence: Growth Reimagined, a two-day forum exploring India’s creative economy and the India-UK cultural partnership. As part of a session titled From Creative Enterprise to Policy: Innovation Shaping the Future of Sustainable Fashion, curated by Aanchal Sodhani, we spoke about the realities of building thoughtfully within the fashion system: how we work, why we choose certain paths, and what sustainability looks like when practiced every day.

The session was mentored by Safia Minney, a pioneer of ethical fashion whose work has long championed fair trade, transparency, and people-first supply chains. Meeting her was both grounding and quietly confronting. It underscored something we often return to- that ethical fashion, even today, seems to rest on the shoulders of a few individuals who have chosen to stay the course long after it stopped being fashionable or easy. Their persistence is inspiring, but it also raises an important question: how do we move from isolated champions to collective responsibility?
Closer to home, January also gave us the chance to gather in a more intimate way. Towards the end of the month, we co-hosted a small gathering of creatives in the impact space with a dear friend, Payal Anil Kumar whose work in the branding space at The Nex Era Collective is deeply inspiring; centred around conversations, cocktails, and next moves. It was one of those rare moments where dialogue flowed easily, ideas crossed paths, and the future felt collaborative rather than solitary.

As we move into February, our attention turns toward completing Unquiet | Seasonless ’26, with the launch just around the corner. We’re also gearing up for a series of pop-ups planned across February and March, allowing past and present collections to continue their journey. We’re especially excited about a new collaboration with a store based in Chandigarh, where we’ll begin stocking by mid-February- another meaningful step in expanding where and how our work lives.

There are a few more collaborations quietly taking shape, and as always, we’re taking our time with them. February feels like a month of tying threads together- and we’re ready for it.
As ever, thank you for being part of this journey with us.
Warmly
Drishti
